Dell Announces Latitude 12 Rugged Tablet – Huge Power with Unrivalled Protection
Dell has always been the name to go to for laptops and tablets you wouldn’t normally dare take anything electrical. Once again, the iconic Latitude Rugged range has been expanded with the new Latitude 12 Rugged Tablet – built around Intel’s 5th Generation Core M processors and designed to stand up to the kind of punishment that would usually annihilate a device in a heartbeat.
Not the kind of beast you’ll find in your average mid-season laptops sale, the Latitude 12 Rugged Tablet has been built from the ground up not only to perform, but also to withstand the harshest of working conditions and environments. Just announced for a late-July launch in the US, UK customers might have to wait a little longer but we’re assured the beast is indeed on its way.
An outstanding quality 11.6-inch HD tablet with plenty of power under the hood, the multi-touch panel is fully glove-enabled and reinforced to withstand extreme temperatures, dust, sand and pretty heavy water exposure. Prior machines from the Latitude Rugged range have served up most of the above, but this is the first to do so in the form of a tablet-laptop hybrid.
The use of Intel’s 5th Generation Core M processors ensures maximum power with minimal power consumption for superb battery life, with options up to 8GB of RAM and 512GB solid state memory.
“Whether it’s a first responder to an emergency or an avid outdoorsman scaling an untouched summit for the first time, Dell’s Latitude 12 Rugged Tablet is built to deliver the performance they need, wherever they need it, without worrying about what their environment throws at them,” announced Dell’s executive director for rugged mobility products, Drew Moore.
Corning Gorilla Glass delivers the highest standard of scratch-resistance for the touchscreen, Intel vPro technology and a trusted platform module provide superb security and management with dual hot-swap battery support allows for changes of the unit’s batteries without the system having to be powered down. Packed with connectivity options and with all-day battery life of up to 12 hours, the Latitude 12 Rugged Tablet is no less than the crowning glory of Dell’s rough and rugged range to date.
