Dell Chromebook 11: The Best Chromebook To Date?
Chromebook has been around for quite some time, but in its quest for fame in the PC industry, it’s barely even scratched the surface. “Just another Google wave” many people said. The one thing that generally comes to one’s mind when hearing about the word ‘Chromebook’ is a cheap, scaled down, laptop computer ala netbook. It’s then never really clear either which market that the Chromebook really falls to whilst its got intense competition from Tablet PCs and ultrabooks.
Since Google first unveiled the machine in mid 2011, many companies have been trying to contribute to this (sort of) new product category, including: Acer, Samsung, HP, Lenovo, and Google themselves. They barely made a dent in the PC market. Earlier this year, Dell is trying to radically changed the market’s perspective on the Chromebook by introducing the Dell Chromebook 11. Other reviewers on the Internet claimed that this is in fact the best Chromebook they’ve ever used. Read below to find out what’s inside the machine!
Just like any other Chromebooks available, the Dell Chromebook 11 is running on Google Chrome OS. However, the real deal here is surprisingly the hardware specs, which pretty much ticks off almost everything I look for in an ultra-portable netbook. To start of, The Dell Chromebook 11 sports a 1.4GHz Intel Celeron Processor with 4GB of RAM, and a beautiful 11’6 screen with 1366 x 768 pixel resolution. The resolution might sound pretty standard, but it’s definitely look great on a small 11’6 display. To put it in perspective, it’s as good as the MacBook Air screen although it’s not really full HD display.
The new Chrome OS has definitely been greatly optimised by Google to run much smoother and it shows here on the Dell Chromebook 11. There’s no noticable lag while browsing the internet, watching videos, looking at high-res photos, etc. Most importantly, the battery life on this machine is fantastic. For a normal use, it could last up to a staggering 10 hours! That’s far better than any other Chromebooks available in the market at the moment! As for the portability, the Dell Chromebook 11 weight at about 2.9 pounds, which may sound a bit hefty, but in reality, you wouldn’t be bothered by weight when you carry it around in your bag.
The Chromebook 11 is currently priced at around £180 ($299) and we will let you know once ITC Sales has one in stock! Stay tuned on our social media and blog!
