Dell Launches World’s Thinnest Tablet Device: The Dell Venue 8 7000
Michael Dell himself walked out on stage at the Intel Developers conference this week, and unveiled the world’s thinnest tablet. Quite an announcement, right?
The newly announced Dell Venue 8 7000 Series is the thinnest tablet in the world at presence at just 6mm, and it certainly has some features that will make other tablets jealous.
The tablet boasts an 8.4inch 2560 x 1600 display screen and is powered by a powerful Intel Atom processor. Intels’s hardware allows the new 8 7000 tablet to use RealSense depth-mapping technology at the back of the tablet device. The RealSense uses three cameras to acquire extra depth information. Unlike other tablets the Dell 8 7000 doesn’t have four even bezels around the device, it has extremely narrow bezels on three sides of the device, and a larger one on one of the other sides which encases the camera, front speaker and the internal hardware. Dell have also announced that there will be a larger 10inch version of the device, both will run on Android 4.4 on a quad-core 2.33GHz Intel Atom Z3580 processor, have Wi-Fi connectivity and 32GB of storage. At present there is no exact release date or price yet, but Dell did say the device would be available later this year.
