The next grade of Wireless Internet
802.11ac the next WiFi standard is currently being talked about by the IEEE. This new standard will be bring speeds of over 1Gb/s over wireless networks.
802.11n has only just been made official and they haven’t taken much time to start on development of the next level of WiFi and plans to have it out there by 2011. The science behind it isn’t to dissimilar to that of the 800.11a protocol from yesteryear. The difference of this will be that the data channels will be larger from 20Mhz channels to as high 160Mhz.
The only downside to it all though is that if our wireless network speeds reach these new heights, surely we’re going to need faster internet speeds to put it to good use.
