ATI 5870 Eyefinity Card able to handle 6 monitors at a time.
AMD are launching their new range of ATI 5xxx cards at the end of this month with the first cards being the 5850 and 5870 with the 5870×2 to follow later on in the year.
While there is a lot of secrecy surrounding these cards due to various NDAs imposed on people the few details that have come out are extremely impressive.
For a start czechgamer.com has reported that the ATI Radeon HD 5870 is more powerful than the NVidia GeForce GTX295 which is very impressive seeing as the GTX295 is NVidias flagship model and is based on 2 GPUs rather than the single GPU of the 5870.
Then there is the Eyefinity technology that ATI has been demonstrating the past few weeks. This is quite a unique twist of the GPU market and basically allows a single GPU to power 6 monitors at once and (if you have enough money) a possible 24 monitors is possible using 4 GPUs in one system.
ATI has demoed this technology by playing Crysis at a resolution of 7,680 x 3,200 over 6 displays.
ITC Sales currently offer a wide range of affordable ATI and Nvidia graphics cards.
